TORONTO—The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has chosen Toronto-based Palette Public Relations Inc. to handle media relations for the 15th annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure. This year’s Run takes place nationwide on October 1st and is the largest, single-day, volunteer-led, national event to support the breast cancer cause.

Palette is handling national media relations as well as site-specific media relations in the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa/Gatineau and Hamilton/Burlington.

“The Run generates a lot of media interest but we were looking for an agency that could go beyond traditional PR and bring something new to the table,” says Lisa Marchitto, senior manager, communications, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Ontario Chapter. “Palette presented some great new ideas to communicate not only the spirit of the event, but also its significance in enabling the Foundation to fund breast cancer research, education and awareness programs that will make a difference in the lives of people touched by breast cancer.”

Palette has worked previously with the Foundation’s Ontario Chapter and according to executive vice president Louise Armstrong, the agency was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them again: “We are very impressed with the caliber of the people at the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and their commitment to a future without breast cancer,” she says. “We’re really excited about communicating the impact and results of this important, national fundraising event and in fact, our whole agency team will be volunteering at the Run.”

Palette Public Relations is a boutique agency specializing in consumer marketing. The agency’s other clients include P&G Beauty brands Olay, Herbal Essences, Head & Shoulders and Infusium 23; Frigidaire Canada; Caliper Canada, Kids & Company and Waring Pro.
